Razan Al Naabi

I am a full-time researcher and PhD student in the department of General and Historical Geology at the Institute of Geosciences, Friedrich Schiller University Jena. Based on field and laboratory work, and under the supervision of Prof. Christoph Heubeck, my DFG-funded research focusses on investigating the role of a shallow sill-driven hydrothermally influenced fluids in supplying tidal flats field on the surface with hot-springs and preserving Moodies Group (ca. 3.22 Ga) microbially laminated sandstones. The research contributes to a broader understanding of how a shallow sill-generated, hydrothermal fluids and their interactions with unconsolidated sands shaped early life on Earth in central Barberton Greenstone Belt, South Africa.
